Llama Personalities

One of the many things we enjoy about our llamas is their individual and unique personalities. Visitors to our farm often ask how we can keep all the names straight on our llamas and I always reply that each of our llamas has a very definite personality..just like our kids. Some people have compared the personality of llamas to those of cats and in many ways we see that here on our farm. Some of our llamas are shy or aloof. Some of our llamas seek out our attention and when they have had enough they go about their way. Some of our llamas have a sense of humor. Some are gate openers and escapers, some like to drink pop from a can, some like to give kisses and one falls asleep and snores loudly when we brush her. Some enjoy the training process, some don't. We have several herd matriarchs, and one little suri alpaca stud male that rules the roost in the male herd, even though he is the littlest guy in the bunch. Getting to know each llama and to understand what makes them tick is part of what makes having them around so much fun.
